Update on Mika

The bubble gum mask! The Anesteologistcame in and gave Mika her mask that they would put over her face during surgery and asked her what it smelled like. After she discovered that wonderful buble gum smelll that thing never left her face. We love the silly Medicine
Mika in the pre-op playroom for children. She if you look at her hair you can see that she has different hair things and one pig tail braided and another one down. This was the half way point in the school year and so the children were mismatching clothes and doing different things to there hair on opposite sides. Before we left for the hospital we sent a picture to her teacher of her to share with the class on half day.

Our little Mika is such a little trooper. She recently had surgery and we were so lucky to have Granny here to help us. Everything went beautifully (we chalk most of that up to the good luck of having Granny here). The only complication was after we came home and she started running a fever of 104.5, which obviously got better over the next few days. Today was her first day back in school, which she missed dearly. They have been doing a penguin unit for quite sometime and doing it at home with mom just wasn't as much fun. Tomorrow ngiht her class is having an open house so that the parents can see everything the children have been doing. The one thing that Mika enjoyed about being home was she had all the time in the world to lie around and read.

She has also been staying busy with girl scouts, ballet, tap, jazz, and gymnastics (which we will start back up in March)Trent and I just look at her and we can't believe how fast she is growing up. In October she will be turning 8! She is such a responsible little girl and is such a big help to me! I am so glad that she is the oldest. About a month ago I had a terrible headache and she asked me what was wrong. I told that mommy's head hurt and I was going to turn on a kids show and lay down on the couch. She insisted that I take some medicine and go take a nap upstairs while she babysat. It was so cute. To prove to me she could do it, she wrote up a schedule for Max and Pax, which included what games they would play, what stories she would read, what snack they would be feed alond with tally columns for how many times they were naughty and how many times they were good. She even wrote down and took notes of cute things that they did while I was lying down.

That is what I call a full service baby sitter!

We love her and are so grateful that we have her in our home. Pax man loves her so much and starts screaming with joy when her sees her.

here are some the latest pictures of her!

pics of Max

The Max Man Update

Max has really grown up lately. He is becoming such a big boy! We just celebrated his 4th birthday! I can't believe how fast he is growing up. Max wants to be our extreme sports man. Granny got him a skateboard for his b-day and all the safety gear that you could imagine. He loves it. He has been riding it non-stop. Instead of a birthday party this year Max decided he wanted snowboarding lessons instead. I agreed not know A: how hard it would be to find lessons for a 4 year old (all the resorts on Mt. Hood don't start until age 6) and B: How much private lessons would cost when I found an instructor who would teach a four year old. With this new instructor though Max will most likely be funding Mom and Dad's retirement. There is this really cool camp called Windells up on Mt. Hood (they even have camp for adults, and yes now Trent wants to go to camp too!) and Max will be working with the same instructor who helps out the Flaming Tomato during the summer! He is so excited to start and we are thinking that will be in March. Max loves going to Primary this year and loves being a Sunbeam! After his first Sunday he showed us all how to be reverent that night and continues to remind us all how to be reverent during family prayer. Max loves going to school and playing with his friends. He even has a girlfiends named Isabelle from school. Max gets advice from Mika every morning if Isabelle will like his outfit and has her write loves notes to her to take to school. He even wants to bring her flowers and jewelry. Trent and I are still not sure were he got that idea from lol. Another big thing for Max was getting his hair cut. He has many friends with longer hair and wanted to have it like theirs. I have been begging him to get his haircut and when Granny came he decided to get his hair cut (because I told him Granny liked his hair better short!) I must say though he looks a million times better with his hair shorter.

Pic of Pax

Little Pax also has a smile on his face to brighten up the room.

Update Time Pax

I figured it is time to update my blog it has only been a month. What better time to do it then at 3:30 am.

So here is the latest and greatest on the Doman Family.

Lets start with Pax

Paxton is starting to develope quite the personality. He has four front teeth on top and two front teeth on bottom and then two weeks ago skipped ahead and his 2 year molars are coming in before the rest of his teeth. He runs around the house like a madman and can scale just about anything. Two days ago I was going to lunch and desperately needed to take a shower and when I got out I found Pax in his bathroom sitting in the sink with his toothbrush in his mouth happy as a clam. He can slide down the stairs in record time and when he hears you coming runs out of the bathroom like he has something to hide. (he loves the toilet ewwww!) He doesn't say much and said his first word on February 15th via Skype while eating his chocolates for Granny and Papa and said "Papa" and has kept saying it since every time we show him a picture of him. He signs alot but feels no need to talk when all he has to do it wait for Sissy or Max to give him junk food when mom isn't looking. He is also quite the picky eater. This is new to Trent and I because our childen before would and still eat anything put before them (yes even sushi, the real kind not those California Rolls). Mika explained that Paxton won't eat anything that I give him because I am always trying to feed him healthy food. Granny was our saving grace with Pax and food he would walk up to her when she was hear a couple of weeks ago and would squat down and show his teeth like some animal and and chomp them while making noise in front of her whenever she had food. He would want anything that Granny had to eat. She got him to eat Flax pumpkin seed serial, salmon, eggs, and many other yummy things to try to fatten up our little munchkin who is only 20 pounds at 15 months old. Pax cannot listen to music without getting down either I will be posting video of him grooving later.
